About the Event
There are over 480 indigenous orchids in South Africa, but how does one describe them? They cover the whole colour spectrum from intense reds through to the palest colours with almost translucent forms; from large two-metre tall plants to tiny 5cm ones; with flowers resembling little brown balls, sea anemones with tendrils floating in the breeze, tiny little hooked spiders crawling on a stem, google-eyed Martians or overgrown eyebrows – just a few descriptions of the vast array of orchids found in South Africa.
Hendrelien will take us on a short journey, revealing their beauty and uniqueness.
The presentation will commence at 14:00.
There will also be a members’ display table, members’ orchid sales and library table at this event.
For those members wanting to join the meeting by Zoom, details will be shared by email the week before the event.
