Celia has been interested in flowers all her life, encouraged by her father who took the family for summer walks on Box Hill in Surrey to see the wild flowers there. During university and working years, gardens were cultivated and holidays began to have a

bias towards mountain travel and plants, especially orchids, a group of plants that Iain, her husband has been growing for many years.

Celia’s interest in hardy orchids developed from seeing them in the wild in the UK and overseas to growing them in the garden.
