The OSGB library is a large collection of more than 600 books that can be enjoyed by our members completely free of charge. It embraces all topics related to orchids: from cultivation to geographical distribution; from catalogue of genera (or families) to books dedicated to only a specific variety; from scientific studies to prominent collectors' biographies; and congress final publications.

Some general books about cultivation are 80 years old and provide insight into how orchids were grown in the previous century.

The Library's collection aims to cover every country where orchids of horticultural interest grow, and to share this wide-ranging information with members.

 

We encourage you to appeal to your curiosity and contact us to borrow books or research materials. You can request a specific book or a topic and we can try and help you to find the information you require.

Books also can be requested by post, but you will have to cover postage.

 

A selection of books along with those requested by the members are brought to most OSGB meetings and can be borrowed at the meeting. 

 

Book donations are welcomed, allowing us to grow our wonderful library.
