Dear all,

We are hoping everyone gets to enjoy some of these warm, sunny days with their loved ones now, when some of the restrictions are lifted.

The Aprils and May's Table Show results are now published. Apologies this took a little longer than usual.

Please stay tuned for further updates as we are organising ourselves to be at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2021 ( 6 - 11 July )

Orchid Conservation Symposium organised by the Australian Network of Plant Conservation will take place as a free, online event from 12:30 to 5:15 PM AEST (keep in mind this is 03:30AM BST) on both Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd June.

Over two sessions you will ger the opportunity to learn about and discuss orchid conservation research being presented by speakers from around the world.

Talks will take you on a journey to learn more about orchid conservation in Australia. This includes presentations on bushfire recovery work on threatened orchids in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. There are also talks on the diversity and conservation of Western Australia’s orchids and deep dives on specific study techniques and species.

We will then take you offshore to discover how Asian orchids are conserved, and to hear about the pollination ecology of orchids in Southern Africa and the conservation implications of the illegal orchid trade.

This is a free, online event but to attend you must register at http://www.trybooking.com/BQUSD

ORCHID SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN MONTHLY, SPRING & AUTUMN SHOWS SCHEDULE 2021

Dear all,

Due to recent taxonomic revision of orchid genera, especially within Laeliinae and Oncidiinae, the OSGB Management Committee have asked the Judging Sub-Committee to update our judging schedule. We have added a few new classes and reduced some of the group classes to better reflect the plants that our members grow. This revised schedule is a little different from the previous one and may take some time to get used to; we will assess it for a year and, if necessary, revise it again.

Dusha Hayes

Chair, Judging Sub-Committee

you can see the new schedule published here and it will be applied to March' Table Show (it will be uploaded and available to view shortly)
